On the afternoon of October 28, 2024, Academician Jia Zhenyuan, the head of the expert group for the Undergraduate Education Teaching Assessment, visited the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Marine Power Technology, accompanied by Vice President Zhao Yuxin. The expert group inspected the Internal Combustion Engine Principles Laboratory, Thermal Engineering Fundamentals Laboratory, New Energy Comprehensive Innovation Laboratory, and Marine Power Simulation Laboratory. All the leaders of the college accompanied the visit, and the main staff from the four offices and all the teachers from the experimental teaching center participated in the inspection work.
Principal Li Yanjun comprehensively reported on the undergraduate education and teaching situation of the College of Power and Energy Engineering and the basic situation of the experimental teaching center from five aspects: college history, party leadership, quality assurance capabilities, education and teaching levels, and characteristics of talent cultivation.


In the Internal combustion Engine Principle Laboratory, Wang Guixin and Yuan Zhiguo, provincial famous young teachers, introduced the supporting role of internal combustion engine principle experiment on undergraduate talent training in combination with the difficult problems of theoretical teaching and experimental teaching of internal combustion engine. The panel reviewed with interest four reports of experiments conducted by junior undergraduates.


In the basic laboratory of thermal engineering, teacher Xu Changsong introduced the basic experimental teaching of thermal engineering and self-made teaching instruments and equipment, and demonstrated some experimental teaching contents for experts.


In the new energy comprehensive Innovation Laboratory, Mr. Wang Zhongye introduced the construction of the first national first-class undergraduate course of social practice, "Introduction to Scientific and Technological Innovation and Comprehensive Innovation Practice", and the practice of students' scientific and technological innovation relying on the laboratory.

The student representative of the first prize of the National College Students' Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Competition in 2024 explained the design ideas, innovationpoints and the de-fog effect of the scientific and technological creation work "No Trace of Fog" to the expert group.

In the ship power simulation laboratory, the provincial famous teacher Zhang Xinyu introduced the construction of the national first-class undergraduate course "Internal Combustion Engine Structure". Under the explanation of Guo Jie teacher, Jia Academician wore VR glasses to experience the virtual disassembly operation of diesel engine.

Mr. Wang Zhitao introduced the construction of virtual simulation teaching resources for gas turbine and steam power majors in the college. Mr. Fei Jingzhou introduced the teaching system of virtual and real combination experiment and the construction of virtual simulation experiment teaching resources of the college, and demonstrated the main teaching content of the provincial first-class undergraduate course of virtual simulation experiment "Virtual Simulation Experiment of Low Emission Optimization Design of Marine Diesel Engine". Teacher Wang Di introduced the simulation test platform of the ship engine room driving control system.


After 1 hour and 30 minutes of examination, the expert group was satisfied with the undergraduate education and teaching construction of the School of Power and Energy Engineering, and kindly met with the alumni generation.


Over the past one and a half years, since the launch of undergraduate education and teaching audit and evaluation, the leaders of our college have attached great importance to and actively responded to the requirements of undergraduate education and teaching audit and evaluation, adhered to the concept of "promoting construction by evaluation, reform by evaluation, management by evaluation, and strengthening by evaluation", adhered to full mobilization, full participation and full cooperation, and steadily promoted the self-evaluation and self-construction of undergraduate education and teaching audit and evaluation. Looking back, the enthusiasm and initiative of all teachers and students to participate in the review and evaluation are rising, and more than 100 staff members of the school participate in learning related content of the review and evaluation, and the overall quality culture atmosphere of the school is increasingly strong. During the self-assessment period, various kinds of mobilization meetings, promotion meetings and seminars and nearly 20 were held at the college and grass-roots academic organization level, and more than 60 course groups of the two majors held professional and course construction seminars, revising and improving the training program and teaching syllabus. Organized more than 10 rounds of self-examination, intra-school mutual examination, and off-campus pre-assessment, carried out 100% full coverage inspection of the examination papers and graduation, inspected a total of nearly 200 courses about 10,000 papers, and more than 900 graduation design papers in the past three years, timely feedback and rectification of the problems found. All the supporting materials of 43 categories of basic teaching materials in the past five years have been sorted out against the standards, and a number of reports and supporting materials such as two professional self-assessment reports, textbook management summary reports, curriculum construction summary reports, and classroom teaching summary reports have been formed.



With the high attention of the leadership and the full cooperation of all teachers, the work of Power College was highly recognized by the school, and the first one in the school was invited to give a speech on the review and evaluation work; The college tour was also the first to be publicized.

During the online evaluation period, the Educational Affairs Office and more than 20 teachers, deputy director of teaching, teaching and research group leaders, supervisors worked late at night to complete the submission of materials in high quality and efficiency within 6 hours required by the school. During the offline evaluation period, the college planned in advance, and at the beginning of September, it arranged to transform the experimental center hall and transform the ship power simulation laboratory, which was highly recognized by the school and recommended to receive academician Jia Zhenyuan, the leader of the evaluation team; During the formal offline visit, the dean and secretary visited the front line in person, and the four offices cooperated with the teachers for many simulation exercises, which strongly supported the experts to solve the problems such as the need to strengthen the construction of virtual simulation course resources proposed by the school.


The teaching, scientific research, laboratory and administrative work of the School of Power and Energy Engineering have strongly supported the high quality of the school through the audit and evaluation, and won the high recognition of the school.
